SPHERE offers the best value of any supplier of in line labelling systems. Here are some of the reasons to use SPHERE as a supplier of automatic labelling systems:
Most of the major retailers today require incoming shipments from vendors to contain labels as per their strict specifications. This process known as compliance labelling, provides many benefits to the retailer by eliminating steps in the receiving, shipping and order confirmation process. For the supplier this causes many potential problems including purchasing compliance labelling systems or paying non-compliance fees. Using the SPHERE CD-160 ensures proper carton placement and stability so compliance labels are 100% consistently placed and readable. Typical rates are up to 20 cartons per minute on a single line. The CD-160 also handles random size boxes and conquers the problems associated with labelling skewed boxes on a conveyor.
Barcode and RFID Tag Verification
SPHERE offers a solution for verification of barcodes and RFID tags. The system reads the information as it passes the scanner or reader. Once read, the package either passes on to the shipping station or is automatically diverted into the QC station. This greatly reduces errors in package contents as well as protects from unwarranted claims against what was received.
Operation starts with an in-bound barcode scan of the carton label and table lookup. The RF Tag & human readable label data is prepared and sent to the tag encoder/printer that can either be inside the printer or in a zone after the printer label applicator. This option allows the user to utilize his existing printer label applicators to print the hum an readable information on the RF Tag and encode the tag at an encoding zone right after the labeller.
As the carton enters the labelling zone, it is cornered and labelled. Confirmation of label placement is confirmed by the RF Tag reader/ encoder. The unique design of our system with accumulation conveyor allows the user to utilize non-RF Tag printer label Applicators for the RF Tag Compliance Labelling process saving the user tens of thousands of dollars on new equipment.
SPHERE has solutions for compliance labelling based upon our standard
SolidLabelâ„¢ solution. SolidLabelâ„¢ is a complete turnkey labelling system offering a single point of control for packaging lines including print and applies labellers, case sealers, erectors and conveyor controls.

Cross dock labelling
SPHERE has solutions for automatic cross dock labelling based upon our standard SolidLabelâ„¢ solution. SolidLabelâ„¢ is a complete system offering a single point of control for packaging lines including labellers, case sealers, erectors and conveyor controls.
Many companies today are improving the efficiency of their operation by using cross dock operations rather than keeping “just in case” stock . These cross dock operations bring in cartons from vendors and immediately send as many as required out to waiting trucks for direct store delivery.
Operation of the SolidLabelâ„¢ Cross dock inline labelling system begins when the in-bound barcode scanner reads the license plate barcode from the carton. A lookup is performed using SolidCommâ„¢ and the shipping label is applied to the top of the carton. The carton is then routed to the appropriate dock store completing the operation using an automatic carton routing and sortation system like SolidRouteâ„¢.
